David Tucker is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and massage practitioner. He did his TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) training, receiving his Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University and his massage training through the Brenneke School of Massage. In pursuit of a deeper level of growth and healing, David embarked on the journey of Classical Five Element Acupuncture in Portland, OR and Corte Madera, CA under the guidance and wisdom of David Ford, L.Ac, and Khosrow Khalighi, L.Ac. Studying and working with the Five Elements is his passion, and he considers himself a lifelong student of Nature’s medicine.
David embraces the philosophy of seeing his patients as “teachers,” and that all which is needed along the path to healing of the body, mind, and spirit are already within us… we just need a gentle reminder sometimes.
On a personal level, David is a Zen Buddhist practicing in the lineage of Zen Master Seung Sahn. He also spends much of his time training in Kung-Fu (Kajukenbo) and Tai-Qi (Chen Family). Integrating Zen practice and Martial Arts with his professional practice has been an extraordinary experience, and very much enjoys sharing what he’s learned with those who are interested. As a side note, he comes from a very musical family, and plays several instruments himself (incorporating the sound healing was an obvious choice!).
